How to enter a Payrate Template.

Pay rate templates enable you to create pre-defined sets of pay rates which can then be applied to new and existing employees.

Click on Settings and then Billable Companies.

Once you clicked on your billable company click on Payrate Templates.

Click on New Template to create a new payrate template. (Or to edit an existing template you can click on the pencil box on the right corner of the template.)

Then fill in the below details and save.

Step 1- Name your template.

Step 2- Add in your Super Hours (The number of hours paid with super per week.) Select the box if you want the Super to paid on all hours.

Step 3- Super % and Workers Compensation % and Payroll Tax %.

Step 4- You may not choose to fill in step 3. Instead add all the overheads and Super % together and add that amount in the base rate field.

Step 5- Add any lunch break details and meal allowance details.

Step 6- Add Shift type (These will populate from the Shift Types you added in Settings)

Below is an example of adding in the Super %, Workers comp %, and Payroll Tax %.

Below's example are overheads/Super % that are all calculated together in the base rate. (You can also add in multiple shift type rates.) Then click Save.

The final step is to allocate the payrate to your staff. Click on Registers and select your staff member by clicking on View. You will see in the Basic Information the Payrate Template tab for you to select the payrate from the drop down and then scroll to the end and press Update. Now you have successfully allocated a payrate template to your staff where you can now track your labour costings for your business.

IMPORTANT- In Staff Times you will be able to identify when a staff member has not been allocated a payrate template. If they have a $0 under the Cost section at the end.

You will be able to identify by the Breakdown of Costs in the financials tab of your jobs under Costs.

To deactivate a payrate you need to click on the red Deactivate button.

HANDY HINT-To view the Shift Type and Base rate without going into the payrate template you can click on the arrow button.
