Sync approved leave to Greentree

Send approved leave requests to Greentree automatically, map leave types, and handle failed sends.

When you need this

You want leave approved in SprintSuite to appear in Greentree as a leave request, without entering it twice.

Leave sync is switched on per company by SprintSuite. If you don't see Enable Leave Sync on the General tab, ask your SprintSuite contact.

Before you start

  • Greentree is connected and the Company code is set.

  • Staff who request leave are linked to their Greentree employee.

  • Your role has Integrations tab: Read & Write.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Greentree → Pay Types → Leave Types.

  2. Leave types pulled from Greentree during staff sync start inactive. Activate the ones you use.

  3. Map each SprintSuite leave option to its Greentree leave pay type, and save.

  4. Open General and turn on Enable Leave Sync.

  5. Approve a leave request as usual. SprintSuite sends it to Greentree with the hours entered on the request.

Good to know

  • Rejecting or cancelling leave that's already in Greentree cancels it there too.

  • Leave edited in Greentree doesn't sync back to SprintSuite.

  • Leave type mappings are only used for leave sync, not for timesheets.

What success looks like

  • Approved requests show Sent to Greentree, and the leave appears against the employee in Greentree.

If it fails

  • Nothing sends on approval → check Enable Leave Sync, the staff member's Greentree link, and the leave type mapping.

  • Retry isn't available → the mapping was removed, the staff member was unlinked, or leave sync was turned off. Fix that first.

  • Greentree rejects the request → read the error on the leave request, fix the cause in Greentree or SprintSuite, then Retry.
