What is the Contractor Report?

The Contractor Report tracks contractor activity and presence across work areas for a given month. It is especially valuable for organisations needing detailed breakdowns of who worked where and when, particularly in industrial, mining, or infrastructure projects.

Key Fields in the Report

  • Line Number – Unique line reference for tracking.

  • Month – The reporting month.

  • Plant Identification – ID for the plant or location of work.

  • Work Area Identification – Specific sub-area where the contractor was deployed.

  • Org Unit Identification – Organisational unit within the company.

  • Vendor Name – Name of the contracting company.

  • First Name / Surname – Name of the individual contractor.

  • Rio Tinto SAP ID – Displays when you enter the SAP Number in the contractor’s profile under the Details tab. This field is required for integration with Rio Tinto systems.

  • Category – Type of worker or role category.

  • Evidence – May be used to link to documentation or verification.

How to Use This Report

  1. Import into Excel or Reporting Tool

    • Open the file in Excel or Google Sheets for easier filtering and review.

  2. Track Contractor Presence

    • Use the date columns to determine daily presence and match with attendance records or timesheets.

  3. Group by Vendor or Work Area

    • Useful for audits, compliance checks, or resource planning by department or location.

  4. Submit to Compliance or Payroll

    • Can support monthly reporting obligations or payroll verifications.
